Fireflies by Owl City

"You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep

'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare"

This song reminds me of when I was six and it was my first time on a plane.  My family and I were traveling to England and as we landed it was night.  I was at the window seat and found myself hypnotized by all the city lights as we landed.  I think the fireflies in the song resemble the city lights.  At that moment I "could not believe my eyes" because of ten million city lights.

  1. I love flying at night. I remember landing in Denver at midnight, watching the city grow from a smudge of light in the mountains to a massive sea of yellow light. As we descended, the sea cleared into massive sports stadiums, sparkling building, and glowing homes. But my favorite sight, were the headlights of cars zipping along the highways.
