Serenade

  1. "The more we know,
    The less we understand,
Life, eternity, the savagery of man.
    We want it all,
    Aimed at the fall,
What is destiny within the masterplan?

    All we wonder,
    No-one ever denies,
If once given life we must die."

Overall, the song "Serenade" is fast, upbeat, and refreshing, complete with background choruses. This is contrast to the rest of the album it's located, "The Black Halo", which is filled with sorrowful or cynical lyrics. Serenade gives the message that, no matter life's hardships, it is ultimately worth experiencing, and moments should never be wasted. The words of wisdom given within the piece, "What does the winter bring, if not yet another spring?", are ones that I have taken as a personal motto of sorts. This piece has inspired me to forget about the bigger questions of life, because of how unsatisfying they are. Time goes on, so people should enjoy what they have, in my opinion.

  2. This reminds me of reading "White Fang". The author made a good point that will always stick with me - animal's don't question life, they just accept how it is and live as best they can. I always remember that when I struggle with a situation.
